Jason Newman BSc (Hons) Ost

Registered Osteopath (5118)

About Jason

Jason qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in London in 2003, but his interest in osteopathy began several years earlier through his own experiences with sport and injury.

A keen rugby player, Jason played as a prop and also competed in downhill ski racing with Hemel Hempstead Ski Club. After experiencing his fair share of sporting injuries, he was introduced to osteopathy and became fascinated by the difference that treatment, rehabilitation and a better understanding of movement could make.

Over 20 Years of Clinical Experience

After qualifying, Jason began his career working in Stevenage, Letchworth and Cambridge, including running a clinic in Bar Hill. He also worked for a period in Northwood.

What initially began as a trip to the Isle of Man to help a friend eventually became a major chapter of his life. Jason settled on the island, where he went on to establish and run a successful osteopathic clinic and lived for 19 years.

In 2024, Jason began working in Great Dunmow, travelling regularly between the Isle of Man and Essex to treat patients, his work later expanded to include Royston, and Follwing his family’s move back to the Uk in March 2026, he worked full-time across the Great Dunmow & Royston Clinic until July 2026.

Having built Strong relationships with patients in the area and surrounding areas, Jason is now continuing his work locally through Fia Health, providing independent osteopathic care in & around Great Dunmow.

Throughout more than 20 years in clinical practice, Jason has treated a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems and has experience working with patients at different stages of life, including babies, children and expectant mothers. He has also developed particular interests in osteopathy, dry needling, gait and biomechanical assessment and custom 3D-printed orthotics.

His approach remains straightforward: listen carefully, assess thoroughly, explain things clearly and recommend what is genuinely appropriate for the individual.

Additional Clinical Training

Alongside osteopathy, dry needling and biomechanical assessment, Jason has undertaken further training in a number of specialist areas.

This includes training in focal shockwave therapy and in the assessment and treatment of men’s health and male pelvic pain conditions.

Although Jason is trained in the use of focal shockwave therapy, this treatment is not currently available at Fia Health, as the clinic does not presently have a focal shockwave device.

His wider training helps inform a thorough and individual approach to assessment and treatment, including recognising when another form of care or referral may be more appropriate.

Why Fia Health?

Fia Health was created around three principles: Focus, Integrity and Authenticity.

For Jason, these are more than simply words in a logo. They reflect the way he believes healthcare should be delivered.

Focus means taking the time to understand the person and the problem in front of him.

Integrity means providing clear, honest advice — including when treatment or an additional intervention may not be necessary.

Authenticity means treating people as individuals and building genuine relationships based on trust and continuity of care.

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan. The aim is to understand what is happening, discuss the options clearly and help each patient make informed decisions about their care.

Outside the Clinic

Away from osteopathy, family is a huge part of Jason’s life. He lives near Bishop’s Stortford with his wife and family and is a proud dad to three girls.

Sport has always remained an important interest. Alongside his earlier rugby and skiing, Jason played five-a-side football, Jason now enjoys swimming most mornings, so patients may occasionally spot him at his local pool.

He still enjoys watching football and rugby, and as a family they particularly enjoy travelling, walking, sightseeing and spending time together exploring new places.
